1. direct cause : that which sets in motion train of events which brings about result without intervention of any force operating or working actively from new and independent source; or, as one without which the injury would not have happened. 2. (also علت مستفيم that is the last link in the series of causation) immediate cause : the last event in a chain of events, though not necessarily the proximate cause of that follows. – Also termed effective cause 3. causa causans /kóz( kózænz/ (Lat) : the immediate cause; the last link in the chain of causation
